Hello Junior!
You've either heard or asked the question: should I take the SAT or ACT? Well, what's the difference?
1. SAT questions usually require more critical thinking; ACT questions can usually be answered after the first read.
2. The SAT places more emphasis on vocabulary.
3. The ACT has a science section; the SAT does not.
4. The ACT has more advanced math.
5. The ACT writing section is optional, but many schools require (so it's not very optional in the long run).
6. There are more sections on the SAT. There are a few writing, a few math, and some reading. The ACT has one reading, one writing, one science, and one math. Each of these sections is longer than a single section on the SAT.
7. The ACT score is usually viewed as a composite score.
Based on these criteria, which sounds better for you? IT may be the ACT; it may be the SAT. Ultimately, I recommend you take both (see Tip #6) because if you score highly on both, that indicates yet another level of capacity and ability. If you do better on one, you only have to report one. It is always good to have a backup!
Think about it, and register soon! (See yesterday's tip!)
Best,
