Dear Senior,
My mother and I constantly argue about how many schools one should apply to. I argue for about 15-20; she argues for about 40 or more. I have a list of 27 famous and or generally selective colleges (click to to see the link). If I applied to each and every one, assuming I received no fee waivers, the cost would be $1560! That is quite a bit of money. Applying to 15 of these would cute that price almost in half. Applying to 20 would likely make it just over $1000. Applying to 40 would likely bring it to almost $3000. For today, I want you to think this over. Tomorrow, I'll give you a few other good reasons not to pile on the schools.
Best of luck,
