I hope you know what an Undergraduate Admissions mailing list is. If not, here's a quick explanation. You give your email and usually your name and address and colleges will email you updates and information and changes in the admissions process. However, I don't recommend you subscribe to the mailing rist for just this reason. I have three reasons for telling you this:
- Your name is in their system. When colleges go to look you up, they will see that you have taken interest in their school by subscribing. It will show that you are serious about your school, and likely better your chances.
- You DO get valuable information that, even if you can find elsewhere, you get FIRST. And when it comes to college, this is very important.
- Lastly, you'll learn more about the college, and you may even find that it is not a good fit. Why not save yourself a $75+ application fee?
Best of luck,
